History of appendicitis
Today there are lot of treatment and medicines that are available for appendicitis; this might spark a question in your mind that whether appendicitis was known much before or not. You might be surprised to know that much of the history related to appendicitis has been written only in the past two decades of medicinal science. This doesn’t mean that the disease and symptoms were not known earlier, there have been clues and even studies about appendicitis even when the medicinal science was just taking the first steps. According to Dr. Deaver “may be many of our scientists stumbled at the very beginning of their studies that is why appendicitis and study didn’t started long ago. It has been just the last 45 years that we have gathered a lot of information about appendicitis, and even this study has bought us very deep into the knowledge of appendicitis.
The open surgery are not known ton be very old that is why there can be no evidence to the fact that appendectomy occurred in past. The extent of appendicitis is known for both the sexes so there are chances that through ovariotomy, appendectomy in females took place. At the time of hypocrites, when appendicitis was not even known to exist at that time too there was cutting the stone procedure done. This doesn’t mean that it was treated at that time but chances are that there were a few steps taken towards appendicitis.
